Every departure is private. We never combine strangers, cap groups at 12, and run every journey the way we'd want to experience it ourselves.

Our Story
A family invitation into the places we know best — the lake, the steppe, and the nomadic rhythms that rarely show up in travel catalogs.

Where it began
Our family's connection to Khuvsgul Lake began long before "eco-tourism" was a word anyone used in Mongolia. My grandfather was among the first rangers of what would become Khuvsgul National Park. My parents built Toilogt camp on the southwestern shore in the 1990s, one of the first family-run wilderness camps in the region.
I grew up swimming in that lake, learning to ride on the surrounding steppes, and listening to the Tsaatan reindeer herders who came down from the taiga each autumn. Unveil Mongolia is the natural continuation of that inheritance — a way to share what three generations have come to know.
The place
Khuvsgul Lake holds two percent of the world's fresh surface water and sits at 1,645 meters above sea level, ringed by taiga forest and open steppe. In summer, wildflowers carpet the shoreline. In winter, the ice grows thick enough for horses and Soviet-era trucks to cross.
Most visitors to Mongolia never make it this far north. Those who do rarely forget it. The light here is different — longer, softer, and on a clear night, so full of stars that the Milky Way casts a shadow.

How we work
Every departure is private. We never combine strangers, cap groups at 12, and run every journey the way we'd want to experience it ourselves.
Three generations of relationships with local herder families, Toilogt camp staff, and Khuvsgul National Park open doors no itinerary can manufacture.
Mongolia rewards stillness. We build in time to sit with a cup of suutei tsai, watch the lake turn silver at dusk, and let the landscape do the work.
Our lead guides have worked with us for years. They speak the language of the steppe — literally and culturally — and share it without performance.
